Mission
The bionic engineering program is engaged with the human, responsible, competent, competitive and innovative resources formation, responding to the technological and scientific necessities for the sustainable environment development in the Maths and Physics as well as Medicine and Biology based on the biological system studies to create engineering suitable models.
Vision
To be the bionic university institution in Mexico belonging to UPIITA-IPN, leader in interdisciplinary teaching, research and development of advanced technologies based on biological systems models; that provides to its graduates knowledge, skills, attitudes and values with quality and relevance, focusing on the technological and scientific demands of society, assuming a national and international strategic position.
Bionics Engineering Aim
To educate bionic engineers with a solid interdisciplinary formation that allows the study of living organisms’ structure, function and alterations as well as the interrelation with the environment in order to create models inspired on biology to use them to solve local problems.
Ocupational Field
Bionic engineers can grow in the public or private health areas, biomedical, biochemical, biotechnology, research institutes, SEMARNAT, the Navy Sector, among others.
Undergraduate Student Profile
The candidate must have general knowledge on Physics and Maths which let an appropriate reasoning on problem solving and computing as well. It is also necessary teamwork abilities with a proactive leadership attitude managing a satisfactory English language level; all the time acting ethically with responsibility, tolerance and equity.
The candidate must have in addition:
- An official and valid High School Diploma for National Education Mexican Standards.
- Solid knowledge on Maths and Physics.
- Solid knowledge on Maths and Logic.
- Abilities to develop self-learnig
- Teamwork abilities
- Spanish and English Reading comprehension
- Basic Computing skills.
